Core Drills

Master these foundational movements before progressing. The goal is sensory feedback, not hitting balls immediately.

PHASE 1

The Anti-Sway Pivot

Fixes: Chunk / Fat shots

Objective: Learn to rotate around a stable right post without moving the center of mass laterally.

  1. Stand on the board without a club. Cross arms over chest.
  2. Turn shoulders 90 degrees while keeping the board perfectly level.
  3. If the board tilts right, you swayed. If it tilts left, you reverse-pivoted.
  4. Hold the backswing position for 3 seconds. Feel the tension in the inside of the right thigh.
Do 3 sets of 10 slow reps daily.
PHASE 2

The Step-Through

Fixes: Thin / Topped / Hanging Back

Objective: Force complete weight transfer to the lead side before impact.

  1. Take your setup on the board with a wedge (no ball).
  2. Make a slow backswing, maintaining a level board.
  3. As you start down, intentionally tilt the board to the lead side.
  4. As the club passes the impact zone, let your momentum pull your trail foot completely off the board, stepping forward.
Ensure 100% of weight is on the lead foot at the finish.
